Meet Our Board of Directors


TRC’s board of directors are committed industry professionals who serve as key leaders in providing guidance to further advance TRC’s services within the community.

LORENA (LORY) TOLEDO

Lorena (Lory) Toledo is the Social Services Administrator for the Violence Prevention and Intervention Division, Miami Dade County. She grew up in Miami after emigrating with her mother from Cuba. Lory graduated from NOVA Southern Eastern University with a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Services. She has trained Victim Advocates, Law Enforcement, and Mental Health professionals in Victim Advocacy, Trauma Informed Care, and Domestic Violence for over a decade. Lory’s passion for working with victims of crime began at the Trauma Resolution Center, where she served as the Chief Executive Director until accepting a position in the local government overseeing multiple certified domestic violence emergency shelters in Miami- Dade County. In her free time, Lory serves on non-profit boards to provide them with critical strategic resources to power the nonprofit success and to strengthen communities.


Amelia Swanson

Amelia Swanson, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology and Psychiatry at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Swanson is a licensed psychologist specializing in women’s reproductive health.  She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Miami with a focus on healing and growth after trauma and medical issues.  Dr. Swanson is on the faculty of Northwestern where she provides consultation as well as individual / couple’s psychotherapy related to infertility and other reproductive concerns. Dr. Swanson also conducts research on the psychological aspects of medical issues. She has a particular focus on how patients are resilient in the face of medical challenges such as infertility and find meaning and purpose in their life while struggling with infertility.

MARIA GONZALEZ

Maria is highly committed to her community, and supports other women through her faith and passion for women’s ministries. Native of Cuba, Maria was raised in South Florida after coming to the United States at a very young age.  While staying at home with her youngest of two son’s, she made her foré into the blogging world when she created a blog focused on entertaining and ways to organize your home.  Her writing resonated with other women and introduced her to an entire new community. Today she coordinates the marketing in a sales rep group in the swimming pool industry, where she brings her drive, creativity and attention to detail into her daily work. Maria has been married for over 20 years and is the mother to two loving boys.

DEBORAH PABON, MFT

Born in New York City and raised in Puerto Rico, in 2002, Deborah and her family moved to Florida where she soon began working at Nova Southeastern University in the Office of International Students. Deborah is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in Cross Disciplinary Studies, and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, she is a Certified Solution Focused Coach and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Deborah helps her clients learn coping skills to manage life challenges utilizing Solution-Focused Therapy and has facilitated workshops in topics ranging from LGBT issues to intimate partner violence (IPV).  She was a featured TED Speaker at Nova Southeastern University and lectures about longevity in marriages by means of the therapeutic application of The Gottman Method for Healthy Relationships. 

Deborah is the proud mother of four adult children (including triplets) and  3 grandchildren.

DR. KATHERINE TOSSAS, EDd

Katherine is a Life Coach, Inspirational Speaker, Leadership Trainer, and Marriage Coach. She completed her Doctoral of Education and Leadership at Marconi International University. She holds her Master’s Degree in Education and Special Education from Touro College and she finished a second Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Albizu University.

Katherine lives to encourage, empower, and equip individuals and organizations to operate at their fullest potential. She also partners and strategizes with individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations to develop their brand. Katherine has spoken at numerous conferences, schools, churches, and youth and women’s events, and facilitates training seminars. 

Katherine is especially passionate about student development through leadership skills, and stands by the saying, ‘It’s easier to prepare than to repair.’ Her hope is to see today’s youth become the greatest generation in history!

OLGA URBINA

Olga Viana Urbina was born and raised in New York. After completing her undergraduate studies at St. John’s University and receiving a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, she graduated with her law degree from Florida International University. Mrs. Urbina devotes her legal practice to helping clients create estate plans that provide peace of mind for themselves and loved ones. She also helps families navigate the probate process after a loved one has passed away. Mrs. Urbina is admitted to The Florida Bar and the U.S. Southern District Court of Florida. She has represented well over 500 clients in her career thus far. With the intention of effectively serving and representing her clients, she opened her own firm, the Law Office of Olga Viana Urbina, PA. Mrs. Urbina has consistently sought to create a practice in which clients can receive full personal attention. She is fluent in Spanish. In her free time, Mrs. Urbina enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and dog.

ALFREDO REYNOSO

Alfredo is a Partner at Hancock Askew and has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. His areas of expertise include financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, internal audits and merger and acquisition assistance as it relates primarily to real estate, nonprofits, family offices, healthcare, manufacturing, wholesale, professional services, technology and a variety of other industries. He has worked with both publicly traded and privately held companies. As Partner, he leads the assurance practice in South Florida.

Alfredo is active in the community and is Chair of The WOW Center. He is also a member of Leadership Florida and a graduate of Leadership Florida’s Connect Class X. Alfredo is also a graduate of Leadership Miami Class XXXIX of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Alfredo graduated from Florida International University in Miami, FL, where he received a Bachelor of Accounting degree as well as a Master of Science in Taxation. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida and is a member of both the American and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
