We welcome undergraduate and graduate students interested in completing their internship or practicum experience with us.

Program Overview

The Internship & Practicum Program at Trauma Resolution Center provides students with hands-on clinical experience in trauma-informed care, community mental health, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Observe and participate in clinical sessions (as appropriate)

  • Assist with case management and documentation

  • Participate in supervision meetings

  • Engage in community outreach and psychoeducational workshops

  • Develop skills in trauma-informed interventions

  • Qualifications

    Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

    Must be in good academic standing within their program

    Enrolled in a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field)

    Strong interest in trauma-informed care and mental health services

    Ability to maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality

    Emotional readiness to work with trauma-affected populations

    Ability to commit to required practicum/internship hours

    Basic clinical, communication, and documentation skills (appropriate to level of training)

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in a related field such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a behavioral health program. Students must also be in good academic standing and meet their university’s practicum/internship requirements.

  • At this time, internship and practicum placements are unpaid and are designed to fulfill academic requirements for field experience hours.

  • The number of hours depends on the student’s university requirements. Applicants must submit documentation outlining their program’s required hours prior to acceptance.

  • Yes. All accepted interns/practicum students must complete a background check and any required onboarding documentation before beginning their placement.

  • Yes. All interns/practicum students will receive clinical supervision once per week with a qualified supervisor. Supervision will focus on case review, clinical skills development, ethical considerations, and trauma-informed practice. This supervision is designed to meet academic and professional training requirements.

  • Yes. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview as part of the selection process. The interview allows us to assess clinical readiness, professional goals, and overall fit with our trauma-informed care model.

  • Internships/Practicum placements may be conducted in-person or hybrid, depending on program needs and student qualifications. Some responsibilities require on-site presence. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process.
